Job Responsibilities
  • Provide program support and assistance by partnering with the Entertainment Host team.
  • Facilitate and present small-scale activities independently or with other Youth Counselors, as needed.
  • Perform meet–and-greet functions in the Oceaneer's Club and Oceaneer's Lab for children and parents on embarkation day Includes tour of facilities, overview of programs, and registration of children.
  • Assist in facilitation of adult or family activities as scheduled; may include welcome line, game shows, crowd control, hosting a lounge, bingo, Port Adventures dispatch or related.
  • Assist in recreational activities on Castaway Cay as scheduled; may include boat rental, snorkel rental, and snorkel instruction, if applicable based upon ship.
  • Function as a Nursery Counselor as necessary.

Required/Desired: Experience,Qualifications, Education, Licenses

  • Minimum 18 months' experience working with children in a high-volume, fast-paced environment in recreation, resort, day care, classroom, or before/ after school care setting, OR 3+ seasons (3 months each) of overnight and/or day camp experience.
  • Passion for engaging children in entertaining programs and activities.
  • Schooling in recreation, education, or related field of study focusing on youth preferred.
  • Strong English oral and written communication; candidates must score 80% or higher on Marlins English skills test.
  • Experience using computers.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities a plus.
  • Microphone experience preferred.
  • Experience working with special needs children a plus.
  • Good comprehension of the importance of following and maintaining health and sanitation guidelines.
  • Ability to be proactive and be able to spontaneously entertain high volumes of children with high energy in the absence of planned activities; relates well to audiences of all ages and sizes.
  • Strong teamwork skills, organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Committed to guest satisfaction; must be able to multi-task and demonstrate a sense of urgency when serving guests.
  • Must be adaptable and flexible in an ever-changing environment.
